When Will the Grants Receive Additional Funding?

SASSA will continue to use its staggered payment system, which distributes funds to elderly individuals first, followed by those with disabilities, and children. The money will be deposited directly into the beneficiaries bank accounts, SASSA cards, or authorized retailers.
It is important for beneficiaries to understand that they are not required to withdraw their funds on the day of payment. After it is deposited, it will remain there.
Who Is Eligible for the Grant Increase
The increased amounts will be automatically distributed to all current beneficiaries who satisfy SASSA’s requirements. To determine a person’s eligibility, the means test considers both their assets and income. Additionally, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of South Africa.
Those who stand to gain from this should bear the following points in mind:
- prevent payment delays beneficiaries must provide accurate and current banking information and contact details.
- People frequently provide inaccurate or outdated information about themselves, which causes them to miss payments or be late.
Additionally, SASSA has cautioned recipients of benefits to be wary of scams particularly when they learn that grants are increasing.

The Impact of the Rise on Families
The additional funds from the grant in March 2026 will assist families with children, the elderly, and those with disabilities who require financial assistance support. Families that rely on social grants but are unable to pay for all of their expenses benefit from the increases.
Until it completes the development of its grant management system in 2026, SASSA will fulfill its commitment to make payments on schedule.
